A Tulsa teenager is wondering what went wrong Tuesday night when Tulsa Police say he tried to steal liquor.
Instead of making a get-away, he got locked inside a store near 129th East Avenue and 41st Street, by the clerk. The clerk said when she saw the teen head for the door; she pushed the button to lock it, and then sounded the panic alarm.
At first Tulsa Police feared the clerk was a hostage, so, they blocked traffic and evacuated nearby businesses. But, they quickly realized, the clerk was not in any danger, she was fully in control. Geri, "I hate thieves and I hate liars. I told him he wasn't going anywhere. He said, please let me go, please let me go. I said, no, you're gonna stay here with me."
When Geri did let him go, the teen was arrested on two complaints of larceny. Geri went back to work afterward and finished her shift.
