Job cuts within SBC are hitting home for some Tulsa area employees.

The head of "Communications Workers of America" union says SBC has laid off 70 Oklahoma workers. Between 30 and 35 in the Tulsa area, including Bartlesville and McAlester.

Many of the layoffs came in SBC's "Construction and Engineering" unit, which some say is already short-staffed.
