(Oklahoma City-AP) -- A one-point-three-four million dollar grant is headed to the police departments of eleven Oklahoma Indian tribes.

The grant from Community Oriented Policing Services was announced Thursday by the Department of Justice.

Nearly one-third of the money will go to the Choctaw Nation. A Choctaw official says they'll use the money to keep three officers on staff for the next three years.

The Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma, the Absentee Shawnee Tribe and the Muscogee Creek Nation Tribal Police Department also received large portions of the grant.
