(Oklahoma City-AP) -- A national beef distributor that recalled 19 million pounds of ground beef won't say if any was sold in Oklahoma.
ConAgra Beef Company recalled the meat because of possible E-coli contamination.
State health officials are bristling because ConAgra is only releasing names of states that received the bad meat if a related illness has been reported.
The U-S Agriculture Department confirmed some of the recalled beef was sent to Oklahoma.
But a ConAgra spokesman was quoted as saying ``if there are no cases in a state, there doesn't seem to be a reason to pursue the investigation.''
One state health official says it shouldn't be up to customers to find out if they bought contaminated beef.
