EL RENO, Okla. (AP) _ Canadian County prosecutors have reports and evidence from a police investigation of the fatal shooting of a 10-year-old El Reno boy.

It is unclear whether the district attorney has filed charges against the alleged 10-year-old shooter because of state laws barring public access to juvenile court records. The records cannot be released without a court order.

Police Chief Fred Savage confirmed that the case was turned over to prosecutors, but he declined additional comment. Assistant District Attorney Mike Gahan also refused comment on the case.

``I feel compelled not to comment based on the confidentiality of juvenile records,'' Gahan said.

Police arrested the 10-year-old last week on a murder complaint in connection with the shooting of Tremain Richey. The name of the child arrested in the shooting has not been released.

Richey's mother found his body in the back yard of their home Aug. 5.

The boy arrested in the shooting was a friend of Richey's, and the pair lived only a few blocks apart.

Investigators have not given a motive for the slaying, but they confirm that the boys were arguing about sports before the shooting.

Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Norman, Lawton and Edmond release the names of juveniles arrested on felony complaints.
