(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Oklahoma City residents will get a chance to see National Hockey League action in their hometown.
The Los Angeles Kings and the Phoenix Coyotes plan to play an exhibition game in Oklahoma City.
The two NHL teams will face each other October 3rd at Oklahoma City's Ford Center. Regular season play for the teams begins October 9th.
Both teams were in the playoffs for the Stanley Cup last year. Organizers expect big name sports figures to attend.
Hockey Hall of Famer Wayne Gretzkey may be at the game.
Express Sports helped get the teams to Oklahoma. Earlier this year the company helped bring the Davis Cup to Oklahoma City.
The Kings-Coyotes game will be the fourth time Oklahoma City has hosted an NHL contest.
