Tulsa residents who are homebound and without air conditioning in weather like this are not only un-comfortable they could be endangering their health.
News on Six reporter Rick Wells says the Tulsa Weather Coalition is here to help.
The Tulsa Weather Coalition provides free cool air to folks who need it and are eligible every summer and have for ten years. So far this summer their volunteers have installed 200 units around town.
They get lots of calls everyday from people who are suffering with the heat, but because of pretty specific criteria, not everyone can be helped. Rob Hill with the Tulsa Weather Coalition, "one of the things we'd like to have, of course, is assistance in helping us help others, that is particularly money assistance. We have a limited number of machines to serve the needs of the however many hundreds of thousands there are in Tulsa County, 3 or 4 hundred thousand."
