LOS ANGELES (AP) _ Sharon Osbourne, wife of British heavy metal icon Ozzy Osbourne and co-star of the MTV reality series ``The Osbournes,'' has been released after undergoing surgery for colon cancer.

Osbourne, 50, who manages her husband's career, was ``in good spirits and doing well,'' family spokeswoman Lisa Vega said Tuesday. The surgery took place last week at an undisclosed Los Angeles-area hospital.

The disease was in its early stages, Vega said, and doctors expect a full recovery. She did not say when Osbourne was released.

Because of the surgery, the first two dates of Ozzy Osbourne's summer music tour _ in Bristol, Va., and Pittsburgh _ were postponed. With his wife out of the hospital, Osbourne planned to resume the Ozzfest 2002 tour Wednesday night in Scranton, Pa., Vega said.

``The Osbournes,'' the highest-rated program in MTV's history, chronicles the unorthodox home life of Ozzy, Sharon and two of their three children _ 17-year-old daughter Kelly and 16-year-old son Jack.

A second season of ``The Osbournes'' is scheduled to begin airing in the fall. It will consist of 20 episodes, twice as many as the first season.
