(Valliant-AP) -- A paper mill in Valliant is laying off 123 employees by the end of the year.
The Tacoma, Washington-based Weyerhaeuser mill is trying to save 300 (M) million dollars per year.
The mill makes paper and containerboard and has 450 employees.
Weyerhaeuser spokesman Leon Robinette says the company will lay off 92 hourly employees and 31 salaried employees from August to December.
He says the company has offered many employees early retirement packages.
Weyerhaeuser employs one-thousand-169 people at its four Oklahoma locations -- which also include an Oklahoma City recycling center, a Broken Bow tree farm and a Wright City lumber facility.
