Student behavior at Tulsa Public Schools is getting a good grade. The number of suspensions last year is down.
During the 2000-2001 school year, more than 6,200 students were subjected to almost 11,000 suspensions. This past school year, the number of students suspended dropped 17%, the number of suspensions dropped 24%.
Superintendent David Sawyer says principals are focusing on alternatives to suspensions. We're told that trend will continue.
