The manhunt for a suspect responsible for murdering a Muskogee man and brutally raping a woman ended Tuesday afternoon. The body of 23-year-old Bobby Vincent was pulled out of a ravine in a ravine in southeast Muskogee.
The Muskogee County Sheriff's Office says Vincent died of self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Vincent's body was found in Brushy Mountain area, a mile from the home where he shot and killed 38-year-old Tommy Dugan, pictured here, and raped a woman.
A canine dog came across a baseball cap belonging to the suspect. That scent was traced right to Vincent's body. Authorities tell us Vincent was out on bail for a rape in Arkansas when Dugan was murdered.
Tommy Douglas Dugan celebrated Father's Day with his family in Muskogee. They never thought their time together would be their last. News on Six reporter Patrina Adger has the story.
"The Lord knew what was coming, we didn't." La Donna Dugan says a picture of her only son Tommy was taken at the family's last Father's Day together. Tommy lived just a mile up the road from his parents who practically saw him every day. LaDonna says Tommy was funny and loved to make people laugh. "He was Mr. Mom not much of a housekeeper but Mr. Mom."
When LaDonna waved to her son Monday afternoon, she never thought it would be the last time she would saw her son alive. "He honked and waved then we didn't see him anymore.â€
Authorities say Bobby Vincent shot and killed Dugan as he was watching his two small children.†They drug him out of his chair and to the hallway, that's where he bled to death. We just know he was shot trying to protect his kids." Friends and family have gathered to support the family through this painful time.
LaDonna says the family now plans to help care for Tommy's 8-year old boy and 1-year old baby girl who still cries for Daddy. "She won't remember the bad, remember the good."
