(Oklahoma City-AP) -- A Texas company Wednesday has been awarded the contract to repair the collapsed Interstate 40 bridge in eastern Oklahoma.
Oklahoma transportation commissioners awarded the work to Gilbert Central Corporation of Fort Worth.
Gilbert Central says it can finish the work in 57 days at a cost of $10.9 million. Under that schedule, the bridge would reopen in mid-August.
The span collapsed after being hit by barges on May 26th.
The accident took out about 500 feet of bridge and sent ten vehicles into the river. Fourteen people died in the accident.
