This is an important political year here in Oklahoma. Among the races that will be closely watched is the race for Governor.
Former 1st District Congressman Steve Largent made it official Monday morning; he is running for Governor of Oklahoma.
Largent, speaking on the News on Six Monday morning, discussed some of the issues he'll focus on if he is elected Governor. "I think public education is the number one concern of most Oklahoman's and I think we have to change some of the fundamentals that we have in our public education system. We have to free our teachers; we have to pay our teachers what they deserve. Not only the respect but, the money that they deserve."
Largent says he feels the two main issues concerning Oklahomans are education and jobs. He kicked off a 12-city three-day tour Monday announcing his run for Governor.
Other stops on Largent's tour included Ardmore, Bartlesville, Enid, McAlester, and Muskogee.
