A Mississippi judge has ordered a temporary halt to all lawsuits filed in connection with the I-40 bridge collapse.
The request made by the towboat owner asked that any cases resulting from the accident be heard only in Mississippi federal court. Attorneys in Oklahoma plan to challenge the ruling.
This comes after three lawsuits have been filed, including one by the family of an Arkansas victim. Another by Attorney General Drew Edmondson on behalf of the State of Oklahoma.
