A scare for residents at a Tulsa apartment complex. They woke up to the smell of smoke, from a fire early Friday morning.

Firefighters were called to the Birch Place Apartments at 3300 S 108th East Avenue around one o'clock. They discovered smoke coming from a downstairs apartment. The people who live here escaped without injury.

The fire caused as much as $50,000 in damage. Investigators believe it started in the kitchen.
