(Undated-AP) -- Former Oklahoma State baseball coach Gary Ward is enjoying success at his new school.
In just his second season as head coach, Ward is taking New Mexico Stat to the N-C-A-A baseball tournament for the first time in the school's history.
Ward won his one-thousandth game this year and has been in the post-season winner's circle before.
He won two national junior college titles in Prescott, Arizona, in 1975 and 1977.
He took Oklahoma State to ten collegiate World Series before making the move back to Las Cruces in June 2000 as an assistant to his son.
