Several Tulsa pools opened Sunday, including a few that were threatened because of city budget problems.

Tulsa Mayor Bill Lafortune brought his son out to Manion Pool to enjoy the first day of the swim season. The mayor says although the city has raised the money to open the pools, Tulsa still needs people to donate money to keep them open for the summer.

He says the city will keep a close eye on attendance records this year to get a firm figure on how much money the city will need for next summer.
