OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Keira Goerl tossed a one-hitter to help top-seeded UCLA beat Oklahoma 2-0 Saturday in the Women's College World Series.
The Bruins (55-8) advanced to play No. 3 seed Arizona State in an elimination game Saturday night. The fifth-seeded Sooners (49-16) were eliminated from the tournament.
Goerl (32-5) struggled early with her control, but dominated Oklahoma in the later innings. She walked six batters in the game.
Stacey Nuveman homered off Jennifer Stewart (22-8) in the second inning to put the Bruins up 1-0.
Monique Mejia drove in a run in the fifth for the final margin.
Earlier, Arizona remained unbeaten with a 1-0 win over Arizona State in eight innings.
The Wildcats (54-11) will play at 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
Arizona started the eighth with a single by Courtney Fossatti. After a walk and a sacrifice by Jennie Finch, Erica Beach (32-14) intentionally walked Leneah Manuma.
Then Vandergeest hit a bouncer over Beach's head, scoring Lovieanne Jung.
