Broken Arrow teens will get to stay out a little later starting this weekend. The city council approved a plan to extend the city's curfew to midnight on Friday and Saturday nights.

A Union High School student researched the idea and brought it to the council. Jared Myers proposed the change to make Broken Arrow's curfew match Tulsa’s. "Since I got pulled over and got in trouble for curfew, I've had to be in by 11. I can be out at midnight again.”

Broken Arrow's city curfew was established in 1970. And before Monday night, it was the earliest weekend curfew of all of the surrounding towns.
