CHICAGO (AP) _ Dan Wright pitched a five-hitter for his first career shutout and the Chicago White Sox beat the Texas Rangers 4-0 Thursday night.

Wright (4-4), who gave up eight runs in 2 2-3 innings in his last start against Anaheim, was sharp against the Rangers. He struck out four and walked one in his 21st career start.

Wright struck out Alex Rodriguez to end Chicago's second shutout of the season. The Rangers have been blanked just twice.

Paul Konerko extended his hitting streak to 12 games in the fourth inning on a double down the left-field line off Kenny Rogers (4-2). Carlos Lee followed with an RBI single to give the White Sox a 1-0 lead.

Rogers got into trouble in the sixth inning when he gave up three infield hits. Royce Clayton beat out a grounder to shortstop to lead off the sixth. A batter later Ray Durham reached safely on an infield hit when first baseman Mike Lamb was not able to cleanly handle the throw from third baseman Herbert Perry.

Frank Thomas followed with another infield hit which loaded the bases. Perry's throw was late to second trying to force out Durham at second.

Konerko then followed with a walk, driving in Clayton. Durham later scored on a groundout by Lee. Tony Graffanino's RBI single made it 4-0.

Rogers allowed four runs and eight hits in 6 2-3 innings.
