CLEVELAND, Miss. (AP) _ Delta State University had 17 hits and four home runs to power past the University of Central Oklahoma 16-10 in the first round of the Division II South Central Regional baseball tournament Thursday.
Trailing 9-8 in the bottom of the 7th inning, DSU (48-6) scored eight runs to take a 16-9 lead. Steven Tomaszewski hit two home runs in the inning.
The Bronchos (45-9) had a 4-run lead two different times, at 5-1 and 9-5.
Justin Carroll had 3 hits, including a three-run home run, to lead UCO. David Jones hit a two-run home run.
Joel Lyons (7-1) got the win. Kyle Dover (6-2) got the loss.
Delta State will play Abilene Christian on Friday.
Central Oklahoma will play Valdosta State in an elimination game.
