Tulsa has a new clinic to provide mammograms to women who can't otherwise afford them.
The OSU Center for Health Sciences dedicated the Chapman Mammography Center Tuesday night. A $94,000 gift from the Chapman Foundation bought state-of-the-art breast screening equipment.
Doctors at the clinic say it will provide a much-needed service for Tulsa. Dr Tom Allen with the OSU College of Osteopathic Medicine, "Many of our patients are poor, medically indigent and have been unable to get the kind of screening necessary for breast cancer."
The clinic, located at 2345 Southwest Boulevard, is ready to take patients, about 30 a week.
