(Fayetteville-AP) -- Guard Kendrick Davis, who averaged 30 points per game as a senior at Sugar Land, Texas, became the first player to sign a letter of intent with Arkansas' new basketball coach.
Coach Stan Heath says David is exactly what the team is looking for. Heath describes the six-foot-three Davis as a combo guard with strong play-making ability and good court savvy.
Davis, a point guard as a senior and a shooting guard as a junior at Clements High School, was named to the first-team all-state selection by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches. Three times, the left-handed Davis topped 40 points in a game.
