(Enid-AP) -- A 19-year-old bullrider is hospitalized in stable condition after being hit in the head during the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association regional qualifying rodeo in Enid.

Jonathan Bounds of East Central Community College in Decatur, Mississippi, was injured Thursday night after being thrown from the bull.

Bounds landed on his feet, but the bull caught him on the chin with a horn and lifted him off his feet during the event at the Chisholm Trail Expo Center.
