AFTON, Okla. (AP) _ A northeastern Oklahoma couple is dead after an apparent murder-suicide Wednesday morning, authorities said.

A man described as a 44-year-old from Bernice shot his wife in Afton shortly before 9 a.m. and then drove to Delaware County where he shot and killed himself, officials said.

The woman was brought to a Miami, Okla., hospital, but later died.
