(Sapulpa-AP) -- Creek County officials say the mothers of two young boys involved in a shooting Monday admitted using drugs before the accident.
Authorities say the mother of the younger boy and three other adults at the mobile home in Sapulpa used methamphetamine earlier in the day.
Five-year-old Timothy Henkemeyer remains in guarded condition at a Tulsa hospital. He underwent surgery for wounds from a .22-caliber bullet that pierced his liver and colon.
Police say the shooting happened in a back bedroom where the two children had gone to play a video game. Authorities say the 2-year-old became curious about a rifle laying on the bed and pulled the trigger.
Authorities arrested Kenneth Armstrong, a resident of the mobile home, on complaints of drug possession and child endangerment.
Police say other drugs, a meth lab, a sawed-off shotgun and illegal pornography were found in the home.
