The Oklahoma State Historic Preservation Office is pleased to announce the availability of its National Register Nomination Grants applications. The SHPO has reserved $10,000.00 from its FY 2001 Historic Preservation Fund grant from the U. S. Department of the Interior for this program. The grant assistance can be used to retain a professionally qualified consultant to complete a National Register of Historic Places Registration Form. The maximum grant award is $750.00, and the applicant must provide a minimum of a $500.00 cash match from nonfederal sources.
Eligible applicants include tribal, state, county, and local governments and private nonprofit organizations incorporated in Oklahoma. (NOTE: Individual property owners, federal agencies, and religious organizations are not eligible to apply.)
There will be two (2) application rounds with $5,000.00 reserved for each round. Any money not granted from Round I will be added to the Round II pool.
The deadline for Round I applications is April 6, 2001. The deadline for Round II applications is June 1, 2001.
