The SHPO has reserved $10,000.00 from its FY 2001 Historic Preservation Fund grant from the U. S. Department of the Interior for this program. The grant assistance can be used to retain a professionally qualified consultant to complete a National Register of Historic Places Registration Form. The maximum grant award is $750.00, and the applicant must provide a minimum of a $500.00 cash match from nonfederal sources.

Eligible applicants include tribal, state, county, and local governments and private nonprofit organizations incorporated in Oklahoma. (NOTE: Individual property owners, federal agencies, and religious organizations are not eligible to apply.)

There will be two (2) application rounds with $5,000.00 reserved for each round. Any money not granted from Round I will be added to the Round II pool.

The deadline for Round I applications is April 6, 2001. The deadline for Round II applications is June 1, 2001.

Request that your application packet be mailed to you by contacting the SHPO at 405/521-6249, FAX 405/947-2918, or e-mail to mheisch@ok-history.mus.ok.us.
