LOS ANGELES (AP) — Mena Suvari doesn't think her new movie ``Sugar & Spice,'' about gun-toting, bank-robbing high school cheerleaders, will be a bad influence on young people.
Suvari plays one of five girls who wear red-and-blue cheerleader uniforms and evil-looking blond rubber doll masks to stick up a grocery-store bank branch.
``They didn't have bullets and they wore masks,'' she told reporters recently. ``Everything is done so ridiculously. It's not ... it's not real.''
The 21-year-old actress said she couldn't divulge much about the sequel to ``American Pie,'' which is due in theaters this summer. She played a wholesome choir girl in the original.
``It'll be really funny,'' Suvari said, giggling. ``It's the first summer after the first year in college, and everybody is pretty much back except for Natasha Lyonne.''
