(Nashville, Tennessee-AP) -- The record label that launched the careers of country music singers Clay Davidson and Chris Cagle will shut its doors next month.

Virgin Nashville will close February 12th in a corporate consolidation. Artists under contract to be shifted to sister company Capitol Nashville. London-based E-M-I Recorded Music owns Virgin Nashville and Capitol Nashville.

Capitol Nashville's best known artist is Oklahoma native Garth Brooks. Other artists on the Virgin Nashville roster include the band River Road and comedians Tom Mabe and Roy D. Mercer.
