(Tulsa-AP) -- Oklahoma's execution chamber is staying busy this month, and that's drawing attention from across the country.

The Reverend Jessie Jackson was in Oklahoma last week to protest the execution of Wanda Jean Allen.

It was one of two executions last week. Six more are planned in the coming weeks.

Media groups that have taken interest in some or all of the executions include C-N-N, Dateline and Time magazine.

Richard Dieter with the National Death Penalty Institute says there's been a growing concern nationally about the fairness and accuracy of the death penalty.

Dieter says national attention on Oklahoma stems from the fact it had the most executions planned to start the new year.

Attorney General Drew Edmondson says he isn't bothered by the attention, and that scrutiny of the death penalty is healthy.
