OKMULGEE, Okla. (AP) -- Ground has been broken on a $15 million project to increase student housing facilities at the Oklahoma State University at Okmulgee campus.
The housing project at the vocational and technical school will add 316 single-student rooms and 48 two-bedroom apartments -- 133,356 square feet in all -- to the campus, Bob Klabenes, OSU-Okmulgee president, said Wednesday.
This is the largest facilities project ever undertaken by the college. It is being funded through private bonds.
Deadline for construction of single-student facilities is Aug.
20, just before the fall semester. Apartments are to be ready a week later, officials said.
The new facilities will replace 30-year-old dormitories. Each living unit will include telephone, Internet and cable television connections.
