A 15-year-old Muskogee County teen was shot to death by one of his friends Saturday morning when they were duck hunting near Haskell.

The Muskogee County Sheriffâ€™s Office says four Haskell teens were duck hunting on some private property when the â€œaccidentialâ€ shooting occurred. A 17-year-old was shooting at some birds, but hit the victim under his arm. The victim was pronounced dead at Muskogee Regional Medical center.

Officials have ruled the shooting accidental. Deputy Brian Hackett says none of the teens, who ranged in age from 15 to 17, had ever taken a hunter safety course.

The name of the victim is not being released.
