RAINBOW CITY, Ala. (AP) _ Westbrook Christian quarterback Brodie Croyle said he will play football at Alabama.
Croyle, the state's all-time leading passer, made his announcement before reporters and classmates at the school Thursday.
He had also been considering Florida State and Oklahoma.
Croyle is the son of former Alabama player John Croyle, who operates the Big Oak boys and girls ranches for abused and neglected children.
The younger Croyle, who started as an eighth-grader, passed for 9,327 yards and 104 touchdowns in his prep career, both state career records. He suffered a knee injury in Westbrook's season opener and missed the rest of his senior season.
Croyle is scheduled to graduate in January and plans to participate in spring practice with the Tide.
New coach Dennis Franchione visited with the prospect on Monday night, only hours after being introduced at Alabama.
