PHOENIX (AP) _ The Arizona Diamondbacks have hired Jim Traber as their new broadcast analyst.

Traber is a former Phoenix sports radio talk show host and currently is a radio talk show host in Oklahoma City.

He also is a former first baseman and outfielder with the Baltimore Orioles.

His hiring fills the vacancy created when Bob Brenly left the broadcast booth to become the D-backs new manager.
