(Oklahoma City-AP) -- A state board is suspending the license of the operator of a Tulsa nursing home for one month.
The Board of Examiners of Nursing Home Administrators took the action against Shelly Hilton after hearing of deficiencies in patient care and of pervasive urine and body odors inside the home. The board also ordered that Green Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center be monitored for six months.
During January, Green Park must be operated by someone other than Hilton who is licensed to operate a nursing home in Oklahoma
Assistant Attorney General John Maisch says the board wants to send a clear message that continued misconduct won't be tolerated.
Hilton's attorney calls the board's action fair.
Floyd Propps says Hilton has not had time to make changes at Green Park since becoming administrator in 1999.
