BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) — And the winner is ...

The group that stages the annual Golden Globe Awards is giving its Cecil B. DeMille Award to Al Pacino.

Pacino was selected by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association's board of directors. The award will be presented during the 58th annual Golden Globe Awards show Jan. 21 on NBC-TV.

Previous award winners include Barbra Streisand, Jack Nicholson, Shirley MacLaine, Dustin Hoffman, Sean Connery, Sophia Loren, and Robert Redford.

During his four-decade career, Pacino has been nominated for 13 Golden Globes and he won best actor trophies twice, for ``Scent of a Woman'' and ``Serpico.'' Golden Globe nominations will be announced Dec. 21.
