Oklahoma G-O-P helping with Florida recount

(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Two Oklahoma Republicans are taking part in the recount of presidential votes in Florida.

State Republican Party Chairman Steve Edwards and Norman attorney Marc Nuttle are helping with the recount of votes in one of the contested counties at the request of the George W. Bush campaign.

Manual recounts have been underway in four Florida counties.

Edwards says security for the recounts is extremely tight and that the county officials are determined to do the recount right.

Oklahoma Democratic Party Executive Director Gordon Melson says he is not aware of any Oklahoma Democrats involved in the recount.
