(Tulsa-AP) -- An L-P-G-A tour event is coming to Tulsa next year.

L-P-G-A Tour Commissioner Ty Votaw says the Williams Championship will be played at the Tulsa Country Club next September.

Tulsa-based Williams is sponsoring the one (m) million dollar event. Williams is a Fortune 500 energy and high-technology company.

This is the first professional ladies golf event in Tulsa since the 1983 U-S Women's Open.

Tickets for the tournament will be available in the spring.
