(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Oklahoma will have a Democratic congressman for the first time in four years.
In his political debut, Democrat Brad Carson has defeated Republican Andy Ewing in the Second Congressional District.
Five Republican incumbents have won re-election, including Representative J.C. Watts, the fourth-ranking Republican in the House.
Ewing says he's disappointed he didn't win. He says he's called Carson and wished him well. Carson replaces retiring G-O-P Representative Tom Coburn.
Republican George W. Bush easily won Oklahoma's presidential election. Bush will pick up the state's eight electoral votes.
According to early returns, state questions dealing with school funds and health departments are failing. The other four state questions are passing.
