(Tulsa-AP) -- The Tulsa men's basketball team has been picked to finish second in the Western Athletic Conference.

T-U finished just one point behind Fresno State in the preseason WAC media poll.

The Golden Hurricane won the league title last year with a 12-and-2 conference record.

Coach Buzz Peterson says he doesn't put a lot of emphasis on preseason polls. He says his young team has a lot of learning to do this season.

Eight of T-U's 12 players are either freshmen or sophomores.

Senior David Shelton was a second team selection to the preseason all-conference team.
