(Oklahoma City-AP) -- On the heels of the driest two months in state history, the month of October will set go down as one of the wettest ever.
Oklahoma has received an average of almost six-and-a-half inches of rain statewide. That's close to three-and-a-half inches above normal and ranks the month as the sixth wettest on record in more than 100 years of record-keeping.
The Oklahoma Climatological Survey says that during the months of August and September just over one inch of rain fell, making that the driest two month period on record.
