MILWAUKEE (AP) — The Milwaukee Brewers outrighted pitchers Chad Fox and Rocky Coppinger to Triple-A Indianapolis.
Fox, 30, missed the entire 2000 season after an arm operation in spring training. He is 1-5 with a 4.25 ERA in 85 career games for the Brewers and the Atlanta Braves.
Coppinger, 26, refused his outright assignment and elected to become a free agent. He immediately signed a minor league deal with the Brewers.
Coppinger also missed last season after undergoing season-ending tendon replacement surgery on his right elbow in early May.
He is 16-11 with a 5.34 ERA in 74 games with the Brewers and the Baltimore Orioles.
The Brewers now have 38 players on their 40-man roster.
