(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Oklahoma's colleges and universities are teaming as part of the Oklahoma Campus Compact. The compact is designed to increase student involvement in community service efforts.

Some of the goals of the compact include supporting and strengthening current community service efforts and promoting new efforts. The schools in the program also partner up to help raise funds to go toward new community efforts.

Campus Compact was founded in 1985 by the presidents of Brown, Georgetown and Stanford universities.

Oklahoma is the 22nd state to establish a statewide Campus Compact.
