Murder suspect arrested in Muskogee County

(Oktaha-AP) -- Muskogee County deputies have arrested a man wanted in connection with a weekend murder near Muskogee.

Sheriff's Lieutenant Roger Lee says a telephone call to a dispatcher yesterday sent deputies to a field in Oktaha . Lee says they found a wet Russell Alan Thomas hiding in the field and that he did not resist arrest.

Thomas was booked into the Muskogee County jail on a murder complaint. He was wanted in connection with the Saturday shooting death of Terry Wade Helton of Checotah.
