LOS ANGELES (AP) — David Bluthenthal, Southern California's leading rebounder last season at 8.3 per game, will be out for 2-4 weeks after undergoing arthroscopic surgery to remove cartilage in his right knee.

Trojans coach Henry Bibby also said Wednesday that Robert Hutchinson, a junior college transfer expected to be a backup guard, is expected to miss three weeks with a fractured little finger on his right hand.

The Trojans open the regular season against Bradley at the Los Angeles Sports Arena on Nov. 18.

Bluthenthal, who averaged 13.9 points, started all but one of the Trojans' 30 games as a sophomore last season.
