(Great Falls-AP) -- Two people have died after their single-engine plane came to a fiery crash in Pecos County.

The Thorp T-18C went down less than a half mile south of a Grand Falls school, 17 miles south of Monahans in West Texas. No one on the ground was injured.

The pilot has been identified as 73-year-old Dayton Earl Ramsey of Monahans. The passenger was 46-year-old Suzanne Parker Blair, also of Monahans.

Both bodies were burned beyond recognition.

Wreckage was found on a school baseball field.

The plane was a single-engine, two-seat experimental aircraft that was registered in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Investigators from the F-A-A in Lubbock are expected to investigate today.
