(Tecumseh-AP) -- Students and faculty at Tecumseh Middle School were evacuated today after school officials found a suspicious envelope at the school.

Authorities say the unmarked envelope was found in an area of the school where mail and correspondence is usually not found.

A dispatcher at the Tecumseh Police Department says the school reported the envelope at 9:31 a-m. Although the school received no bomb threat, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol bomb squad was called and the school was evacuated.

The envelope has been removed from the school and was placed in an explosive-proof trailer around noon. Officers plan to move the trailer to an undisclosed location where the contents of the envelope will be examined.
