Maggert first-round leader at Buick Challenge

(Pine Mountain, Georgia-AP) -- Oklahoma State product Jeff Maggert is good enough to have played on the last three Ryder Cup teams and even to beat Tiger Woods in match play.

Getting motivated is another matter.

Maggert has never seriously contended on the P-G-A Tour this year. He's had any number of diversions -- a new wife, three kids, Little League teams and some rest and relaxation.

But he has posted his lowest score of the year -- a 9-under 63 -- that gives him a three-stroke lead after the first round of the Buick Challenge, being played in Georgia.
