(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Former Putnam City baseball standout Joey Nation is set to make his major league debut.

Nation is scheduled to start tomorrow for the Chicago Cubs against the National League Central division champion St. Louis Cardinals.

He's a former second-round draft choice of the Atlanta Braves, but he was traded to the Cubs late last season in a deal that sent Terry Mulholland to Atlanta.

Planning to attend the game at Wrigley Field are Nation's parents, brother, sister and girl friend.

He'll need the support.

In addition to facing the powerful Cardinal lineup, his mound opponent will be St. Louis ace Darryl Kile, who will be looking for his 20th win of the year.
