Tomlinson and Tulsa teammates earn WAC honors

(Denver-AP) -- T-C-U running back LaDainian Tomlinson and Tulsa teammates cornerback C.J. Scott and kicker Chris Earnest are the Western Athletic Conference players of the week.

-- Tomlinson ran for 243 yards and two touchdowns as the 18th-ranked Horned Frogs beat Northwestern 41-to-14 Saturday.

He had 108 yards of rushing and two other touchdowns called back by holding penalties.

Tomlinson is the nation's leading rusher with 210 yards per game.

-- Scott had 12 solo tackles in a 23-to-16 win over Rice in only his second collegiate start. He had three tackles for losses and broke up a pass.

-- Earnest had field goals of 32, 25 and 42 yards in Tulsa's victory. He also made both extra points and four of his six kickoffs were touchbacks.
